narrow shiny, mid-green leaves emerge from subterranean bulb in response to rainfall, 25 - 30 cm long. Large showy inflorescence of pale pink, narrow tepalled flowers, erect stem, flowers open above leaves. When rainfall is sufficient the leaves stand more or less erect with a bit of a curve towards the top but if the area dries up then the leaves become more flaccid as in the 2nd photo. The 3rd photo was taken on different occasion when the rain was enough to initiate growth and then the rain stopped totally and the leaves shriveled away but the inflorescence carried on and looked more spectacular than ever.
