Jenny devotes this exhibition to raising awareness and support for the ongoing research and conservation work that she and Karin Sternberg of UJUBEE conduct.

"My work reflects my spiritual connection to the natural world expressing my reverence for the sacred in all things. My current research work with bee conservation has influenced my artworks. Bees have become an important metaphor representing the feminine and the fragile state of our ecosystem. Living in Africa, where women and the natural world are equally oppressed and disregarded, results in the very fabric of our society undoing. Remove bees from the world and we will cease to exist. These works represent the healing properties found in the sheer beauty of wild spaces."

Their research looks at the ecology of the Cape Honeybee and other native bees in pristine Fynbos.
Bees are the most specialised and successful group of pollinators, vital for biodiversity and food security.

As part of the month long exhibition, Jenny will give a series of talks at 18h00 on May 10, 17, 24 and 31. These talks titled :
* WILD LIVING; STORIES FROM THE WILD and
* SEXING THE WILD - include photographic stories, while
* WILD SOUND focuses on the sounds that bees make.

When: 5-31 May 201 7 6:00 - 9:00 PM 196
Where: Victoria Road, Woodstock, Cape Town
