We have revamped our southern African tags a little: mostly tidying up extraneous tags.

Unfortunately we do share tags with other communities, so it is not possible to tidy them up a lot, so there will always be similar and confusing tags around. We just have to live with this: provided you remember or check which are our tags, the tagging system is incredibly useful and powerful.

I wish we could discard tags that stay at only one observation after two years: that would get rid of over 80% of tags. Do they really serve any purpose (but then tomorrow they may come into vogue and become useful)?

We have requested a module where owners of projects could add tags to observations suitable for projects, but this is for the 2016-2020 development, so please dont expect a quick fix.

More in general at www.ispotnature.org/tags (perhaps bookmark this?) - and if there are any other useful or important tags, just tell us here, or at www.ispotnature.org/tags or at www.ispotnature.org/dear-curator and I will add them.

An especial thanks to CREW (and doubly especially CREW Outramps) for helping us clear their many and varied tags. Much appreciated. (to see how they are using tags see http://www.ispotnature.org/node/792056 and http://www.ispotnature.org/node/792880)
