THERE ARE TWO BUGS OPERATING AT PRESENT:

B00 (OR L0L0 OR 00ps) BUG:

There is a bug in the Add an observation and Add an interaction wizards that is corrupting the locality to 0 0 (i.e. the central meridian at the equator).

Please check your locality after posting: it shows correctly in the preview.

Note that any identifications made at this location will link to the CoL dictionary and be lost to the southern African community filters and projects.

Please do not make IDs until the localities are corrected by the posters.

You can check which dictionary the ID is linked to by holding your mouse over the scientific name in the ID box: the tooltip URL should say ~/SANBI/~ for our dictionary. If it says ~/CoL/~ then it is not linking to the southern African dictionary.

The map screen is blue and zooming out reveals a locality at 0S 0E or at the trigger of Africa.

COORDINATES IN METRES (OR Sensitive Species) BUG:

This kicks in with any sensitive species when it is identified or if the locality is hidden. It occurs when an ID is made.
The coordinates are converted to metres and the actual locality data is thus lost.

The map screen on affected observations is shown as BLACK and zooming in is not possible.
