A Major Milestone: 3000 Observations, with jacquesvdmerwe's sighting of Pajamabos - Lobostemon fruticosus at Burgherspost Wine Estate, Darling.

Well done everyone. Thanks to all who contributed to this achievement!

The bird users have cleared out the "help with confirming observations" for birds: there are currently no unidentified birds on iSpot ZA. Mammals though have some obvious species that need checking! Please remember to look at the lower carousel if you feel like an identification challenge.

We have had some very interesting runs, with almost 100 observations posted each on two particular days. This is forcing many of us to focus on our specialities and ignore some of the more obscure and uninteresting groups. But dont worry: someone will get to them soon.

We do need some more mammal and fish experts: so if you know anyone keen and interested, then please rope them in.
And fungi are proving quite a challenge, with many exciting observations: fortunately, we share many species with Europe and experts from abroad are helping out with identifications!

As ambassadors for biodiversity, YOU are doing an amazing job. Keep up the excellent work!
