On two or three occasions these small Chaffinch sized birds were seen displaying in low bushes bordering a freshwater lake in S.E.Thailand. I took them to be Common Iora (Aegithina tiphia). The singing males continually showing off white patches on the rump during flight and when singing. Bird guides referred to since make no mention of the white rump in Iora. Is this a sub-species or something else? (Green Iora also seen in the area.)
