These magnificent trees give dappled shade on La Pinede campsite but are not ideal because they shed leaves and strips of bark that need constant clearing up. They also drop a fascinating variety of items connected with the fruiting process so with time on my hands I was able to study them in my amateur way. I don’t think all the trees are necessarily the same species.

I would be very interested to hear from any expert on Eucalypts who could identify the species and correct any mistakes to the above where appropriate.
