Observation - Primrose Brittlegill. Description: Growing under coniferous trees with short needles. Caps were upto about 10cm but most were a little smaller. Taste very peppery. About 1/5th peeling. Growing under coniferous trees with short needles. Caps were upto about 10cm but most were a little smaller. Taste very peppery. About 1/5th peeling. According to Collins complete guide by Paul Sterry and Barry Hughes A similar species to Primrose Brittlegill is Russula torulosa which the book depicts as having white gills whilst my spotting has pale yellow gills as per Primrose Brittlegill descriptions and photos. Thanks for another ID confirmation!
