Can you help? We're going to be changing the way iSpot deals with location information, so that it is easier to add new locations, and in the future make it possible to see where species have been observed across the country. The first change will be to the way in which locations are added to your observations.

We're seeking help with testing this new system before it goes live, to ensure that it is easy to follow, and that no bugs or glitches have crept in. We'd be grateful if you could try out the "Add an observation" page on the test site.

Important: the test site will not retain any observations, photos or comments added to it - be aware that anything you do upload on the test site will be lost when it switches over to the live site.

CLICK HERE to go to the new design and help us test it. Please add any comments to the User Feedback Forum on the test site.

Changes to look out forPlease try out these two areas:

  • New "Add an observation" page, with map functionality that allows you to look up post codes or grid references.
  • New "My Spot - Map" page, which allows you to see all your observations on a map background.

(You'll need to be logged in to the test site to make use of the above pages - if you've only joined iSpot recently you may have to register again on this test site, but this has no effect on your 'real' iSpot account on the main site.)
