You may or may not have noticed but we've added a new feature to the identification area on observations.

The scientific and English names that are used to give an identification to an observation can be difficult to fill in unless you're an expert, so we've decided to try and give you a hand. Now, when you start typing in either of these fields iSpot will try to help you by giving you suggestions for what you may be trying to add.

As well as this we've also added a ‘get recommended' button that you can use to see if the names you've filled in, actually have a recommended name that experts have decided is more appropriate, if so you will see the fields automatically change to the recommended names when you click this button.

One point to mention is that the ‘get recommended' button will always favour the scientific name when checking, so if you'd like to find recommended details based on the English name remember to leave the scientific name blank.
