Only found on the middle Peninsula this species is rather enigmatic.
From the habitat it is clear that this species loves disturbance. There are plants throughout the marsh, but most of the population is along the path. In fact, the same path that SANParks has closed to protect it (and the marsh). Without the path this population will collapse to a fraction of its current size.
A reminder that paths are part of the ecosystem: migrating herds (Eland, Elephant) and resident animals (Rhino and Grysbuck) would have kept a system of paths and trails across the mountains (esp.
