Description:

Quite small, I'd take a guess at around 8mm, but that may be an overestimate. Two of them were tussling over rights to a piece of dead millipede, most likely the seasonally ubiquitous Doratogonus, but the squashed remains could have been Zonaphora, which are reasonably common in the area. Probably doesn't matter. On lower-use driveway in a private GMA, in what I'd still refer to as woodland, but by other countries criteria, Miombo is moist savannah (and this is quite grassy woodland).

Description:

This little green chafer, together with a KZN Small Fruit Chafer were busy inside a flower head. Touching the branch the 2 chafers fell out, into my hand. The KZN Small Fruit Chafer beetled off before it could be snapped. This guy gave me just enough time for these pic's before beetling off too.

This one looked totally green to me and I was quite surprised to notice the colors picked up by the camera.
