Description:

Found on clayish portion of a site. Site is highly degraded mostly invaded by Port Jackson.
This plant found under Gum trees which are cut for firewood.
Threats include trampling and alien species.
Only on specimen found but more could be on the site.

Description:

Thanks to the Cape West Coast Biosphere Reserve, there is now an alien clearing team taking down the extensive stand of Rooikrans at Three Fountains. This will hopefully aid in the restoration of the site and creating more habitat for the Marasmodes to thrive.

This may well be the last population of M. Fasciculata. The other 2 known populations haven't been checked in decades. Found by Cliff Dorse (City of Cape Town) & ID confirmed by Dr. Anthony Magee (SANBI)
