This series of photos was taken over approximately a one month period, and after flowering, documents the ripening of the fruit of the "Lekkerbreek" tree, (Ochna pulchra). The seeds turn from a bright green to a pale grey, and finally to a black seed. The fruit vaguely resembles a comical face with a floral hat, hair, eyes, big ears and seems to be "sticking out" its tongue. The tree is rooted in the cracks of the rocks (no soil at all)at the base of the Magaliesberg mountain range.
