Description:

The usual suspects in this very tall tree behind us are the Black Sparrowhawk and African Goshawk.
This is the first time I have seen them at this location. There were a pair displaying, but by the time I got the camera ready
I had only time to get a shot of the one before they moved off. They made a kill of a dove in our garden 30 minutes later.

This is the first time i have seen a bird of prey that isn't an owl perching in the gardens. In the fourth photo, it is perched atop the giant protea bushes of the protea garden where you would usually see sugarbirds.

Lanner falcon with prey. Female was feeding while smaller male was hanging around. The bird was Columba livia from local village.

I was impressed at the amount of flesh the bird was consuming.
