Description:

A moderate sized snail - perhaps 2.5cm across the longest part of shell? - shaped much like the very young Burtoa niloticas, but much darker than they usually are. Is it a young Achatinid, or an adult something else?

On sparse lawn where the guinea-fowl like to scratch and destroy.

Moderately sized; not that a slugs dimensions are particularly fixed, but probably squidged (technical term) itself out to 6cm. On dry pathway at wet time of year, quite early in the morning.

Description:

On weedy grass after heavy rains; shell not enormous, perhaps 10-12mm? Perhaps less?

Apparently Sheldonia endemic to Southern Africa, so this I.D. quite some way North of the Zambezi is questionable to me; but it looks like one.

Smallish (1.5cm shell?), rather flat, finely textured snail. I'm assuming family from the tail, of which Trochonanina from Pemba island are a decent match?

In woodland (relatively pristene but for the pervasive removal of all large trees for charcoal/timber and the seasonal burning of everything because apparently it's an important part of land management to set fire to the entire country.
