Interesting to see that the Dwarf Cannibal emulates hir big cousin Cannibals (Natalina spp.) by hooking the tail inside the empty shell of hir prey and dragging it around to dissolve and ingest the minerals. I wonder whether they cache a bunch of surplus 'doppies' too?

Found crawling on terrace floor - easier progress than nearby dense garden shrubbery (jungle)?

10mm shell-length fellow wasn't happy to be disturbed from hir slumbers and sulked in hir shell. So I deliberately put hir back on hir leaf upside-down to see what would happen and hopefully get shots of the head-foot and tentacles. Not to be! Very adroit at righting hirself, it quickly rolled over showing minimal fleshy bits - and went back to sleep.

Sure enough, Dai Herbert's suggestion worked. I put out some tender shreds of grilled chicken-breast last night between rainy showers (yes, and had to bribe and threaten the dogs to desist) in our back bush near the pond. And first thing this morning was delighted to find 3 little Hunters busily rasping away.
Whether they were eating the chicken or slurping up the juices is moot and depends on better macro pictures than mine ...

Description:

On collecting the mole's corpse in the morning gloom, I noticed two small grey things protruding from the open mouth. I thought they were maggots, but one fell off, so I picked it up to carry inside for photographing. And realised immediately it was no maggot, but a tiny Hunter Snail.
Sadly, I didn't get any shots in situ and by the time the camera was ready, the remaining snail, disturbed, had left the mouth and was hot-footing hirself off to safety.
