Description:

Reseeding shrublet growing in a mesic fynbos community on a south-facing slope. Poorly known species previously collected in the Van Stadensberg and Elandsberg, endemic to Kouga Sandstone Fynbos. About 15 plants counted. No immediate threats in the area, although trampling by hikers could present a potential threat.

Description:

Upright plant about 50cm tall, reseeder. 3nate leaves. Flower <5mm. Hairy everywhere except for the corolla. Some leaves glandular. Edges of sepals have pink glandular hairs. 8 stamens with appendages. Stigma capitate, exerted and the stamens very nearly so. Went there today to get photos as there were very few open last week. Only one plant. About 5 plants at van Gogh plot.

Description:

Very fluffy plant and flowers. White flowers 5mm in length. Mostly finished flowering. Hairy everything. Even on the back of the leaves inside the 'gap'. 4nate leaves. 8 stamens with appendages. Pannosa means like felt referring to the dense hairiness of this erica. Should perhaps have done the dissection onto coloured paper to show the white fluff more clearly.
