Well, its not variety pauciflora, is it?
Oliver notes that the typical Erica Lucida forms "sparsely branched fastigate shrubs to 1.5m tall. (Fastigate means branches more or less parallel to the main stem).

The plants are between 300 and 500 mm high with pink flowers on thin stems. The calyx and stems are hairy and light pink. The leaves are clustered, somewhat hairy and small.

A low growing Erica with pink-purple flowers with rather open mouths, carried on stems. The flowers are between 4 and 5 mm in diameter and the leaves are small. Only 3 plants found in the area.

Upright Erica with flowers arranged in a dense spike. No habit pic etc. Just thought it might be the same as http://www.ispotnature.org/node/851905?nav=latest so plucked it as the seeds had all been released. Flowers <5mm,broad bell shaped. style and anthers included. appendages present. Leaves long and 4nate. Re seeder. This plant was say 20cm tall and growing in the open.

Erica growing near E.galgebergensis on a rock. These were only about 10cm tall but mature plants. Long green leaves,4nate with glandular hairs on the leaf stalks. Flowers pink <5mm. Description:

Very flat,spreading Erica growing on rock face near E.galgebergensis. Leaves have extra long hairs. Open backed, roundish leaves. 3 bracts that are up against the sepals. One BRACT is extra long and is nearly as long as the flower also having long hairs. Unfortunately flowers long finished flowering. Round flowers <5mm. Seems to have seeds that have long hairs too! Sepals with hairs also long and at the tips. Best fit is E.cryptanthera but then the bracts would be remote which is not the case here.
