We thought the mannikins had discovered the perfect spot for their (surprisingly large for such a tiny bird) breeding nest. Cunningly concealed in the upper Jasminium creeper, at hip height, just behind the railing of our balcony. We'd spotted the parents' regular visits and found the nest, but I was unable to get a meaningful photo of it - and unwilling to disturb them by trying. So we let them be and enjoyed the gentle solicitation calls of the chicks, especially at sunrise.
