Every time

someone "agrees" with this observation - and I get to see the photo again, I want to touch those whiskers!

Video clip

I also have a 30s video clip of this encounter. This shows this chap smelling the camera and its support (this was after a visit to the camera by baboons). At some point this chap also paws the camera before running off.

Stange camera position

I forgot to mention that the camera was set up to view a water trough, but after a visit by a troop of baboons the camera was aiming directly downwards at the ground. It remained like this for a few days before one of my farmworkers saw this and corrected the camera position.

This closeup observation of the leopard was made while the camera was aiming at the ground.
