Found while digging in the garden. Calls en mass during rain, but can tell which neighbours automatic irrigation system is on by the calling. The white goo on the back is glue - probably used for defence - sticky as hell; it is also used by the male to stick himself to the female during amplexis. This one was quiet, sometimes when disturbed they give a loud plaintive call - like a baby crying: in which case nothing will convince coloured and black labourers to continue working in the area, even showing them the frog. Listed as "Vulnerable due to habit loss resulting from urbanization", but it loves gardens here in Bergvliet. Was told that this is the most common prey item in Spotted Eagle Owl pellets in the Tokai Plantation.
