Found entering house. Several specimens of Common Wasp and this species which I think may be a male Tree Wasp

You're Right!

Single black spot on the clypeus, and abdominal markings, suggest sylvestris.

This does not look like

This does not look like Dolichovespula. The malar space is narrower than the scape. Try Vespula. Males are not as constant on the clypeus markings as females.
