Another couple of good shots. Clear images aid ID and in this case it was clear to agree with your ID that this was a Shanny. According to Kay and Dipper's book (pages 212-213; title in your Sea Scorpion posting), for photographing rocky shore fish, particularly gobies, they recommend trying to get a full side-on view with all the dorsal fins raised (distinctly easier said than done in my experience!) Apparently this aids the ID, particularly with the trickier goby species. Keep up the good work!
