Well, it certainly seems to be that genus, but getting to species is much harder work. I'm not sure on this one, to be honest, although S. linearis is certainly one of the more common ones. If anything, I might wonder at lepidus instead, though.
Okay Joe, that's much appreciated. I was clueless but had an acquaintance make the identification to be truthful. I think he said something about a square head being important(?) but I appreciate being certain may not be possible. More than anything I was delighted that it opened it s wings just as I was taking a photo!
