Mushroom of some kind.

Observed: 1st November 2013 By: Featherless biped

At first I thought it was a common field mushroom but its filaments were white. It had a pleasant field mushroom like smell. This example was about 3cm across and 5cm high, although much larger specimens were growing next to it(maybe 10cm across). Looking in my fungi book it looked like the Death Cap, but it wasn't growing in a woodland, it was growing in the grass at the side of a path. Any ideas? I'll i.d. it as Death Cap but no idea really.

Not the Death Cap, more likely to be the Cloud Cap.

Not a Death cap because....

All Amanita's have a ring on the stem. Your's doesn't.

No idea what is though.... Sorry
