Description:

Grey foliose lichen with overlapping lobes growing on a south-facing, siliceous, churchyard wall (picture iv). Coastal, near cliff edge. Lots of lobules growing ‘toe-like’ from lobe edges. Some lobules turning into grainy soredia (picture iii). White underneath with pale rhizines. Chemical tests applied to surface: C-, K+ yellow. Possibly Physcia tribacia.
