Peltigera praetextata

Observed: 28th October 2013 By: tony lovegrove

peltigera praetextata3

In moss on fallen tree. Gelatinous body with white underside attached to substrate by robust rhizine-type structures. I will check to see if isidia are present to confirm praetextata or otherwise.

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Species interactions

No interactions present.

Confident it is a Peltigera species. If no convincing evidence for P. membranacea or P. praetextata then perhaps can identify it as 'Peltigera species'.
