Description:

Clump of three growing on edge of mixed woodland path. Slightly confused by white mould growing on gills – initially though it was milk & a milkcap. Cap 12cm across, yellow ground covered in wine coloured scales, centrally depressed. Gills yellow, crowded. White spore print. Stipe 13cm long, 2cm wide, yellow with reddish-brown scales. Smells of rotting wood.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
