I saw this in Kew gardens on a magnolia tree. I have never seen anything like it and wonder if it is a fungus, or if not, is it a plant disease?
Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!
Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
No interactions present.
This looks like a miniature pink dragon, and is either a very odd magnolia, or a fungus or some sort of mutation but i would be grateful to have an identification
Not sure what it is! Maybe Slime Mould??? You were in the right place to have asked someone what it was!?
The more I know the more I realise I don't know
Looking again at photo I don't think this fungus or slime mould. Perhaps you should re-post in Plants section - maybe someone looking there will have an idea!
Have a look at
Thanks Mark, now we know!
thank you very much Mark, and although i was in the right place to ask someone , there were no gardeners visible in this part of the gardens when I took the photo.
Anyway thank you again
also thank you, cricket moth for the initial diagnosis as seed pod.
