Description:

On and at the base of fallen tree cap 1-4cm ochre brown with tiny mica partials.Gills white becoming date brown and eventually black adnexed or free,stem white with a buff tinge below

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Why does it come up as 'cf.'?

Why does it come up as 'cf.'? think this means 'like' my Latin is not good! Other Obs same question. Any thoughts?

not sure

I tried to get rid of it but iSpot was having none of it and there is no reference to cf in any books. It may be worth asking on the Forum also how to get rid of it.
