Shell is (or was) yellow and banded not Brown and mottled. The outer shell layer has worn away in places causing the confusion. The shell shape also indicates Cepaea.
Fair enough. The second photo does look like Cepaea.
Yep I too have to agree Cepaea, based on the shape of the shell indicated by the second, subsequently added, image - ie a low spire (much higher spire in Cornu).
