Description:

Growing in pine plantation.Glossy postbox red when young. Growing to about 90mm dia when old, darkening in the middle with a ragged edge and white gills,stem very slightly pinkening.Has a very faint mushroomy smell

pillar-box red

Sudden fear. Will our use of the phrase "pillar-box red" be affected by the recent governmental flogging off of our public utility? It'll be annoying if they change the colour.
