Description:

A tight group of fungi growing in grass at the base of a drystane dyke. Cap pale purplish-brown, darkening with age and often cracking (perhaps due to dry conditions?) 20p coin in photo 3 to indicate size. Distinct ring on stem. Spores brown.
Edit: Changed to match Fenwickfield's ID. Many thanks.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Microscope

Cheap. USB. *4, *10, *40 objectives. Coarse focus adjustment only. Transmitted light only. Camera or optical eyepiece. Came with ULead software. No instruction manual. From eBay. I've added screw XY adjuster (eBay again). Intend adding LED lights above table. Still looking for software which will allow measurement.

Hope this helps.
