Sarcocornia in South America

According to this publication S. fruticosa does not occur in Chile.
If it is a similar species then it should be called S. neei.
There is a key in the paper to five species and the seed covering should be examined.

I believe this is the European S. fruticosa

Thank you very much, Martin!

Thank you very much, Martin! Althought the study was released in 2008, I had not yet read it.

The species in question has been cited under the name of S. fruticosa by most of the references from Chile.

In view of the new available information, I will try to identify the Chilean Sarcocornia species according to updated taxonomic keys.

Best regards,

Victor
