Insect caught in moth trap last night. Length 12-15mm tail to antennae tip, Very long antennae, wings folded , hairy thorax.
No interactions present.
Thank you Nightfly,
I never thought of this ID, though thinking about it my neighbour does have a small pond, so perhaps they came from there.
I am seeing an awful lot of these caddisfly at present in a woodland where I trap moths. There are only small trickles of running water through the woods and the caddis presumably originate from those. The ones you are seeing very possibly come from your neighbours pond, I seem to be attracting caddisflies to my moth trap everywhere I put it whether there is an obvious source of water nearby by or not.
I trapped more of them last night, and sadly, nothing else. I appreciate your input - Thanks.
