Description:

Only ever see 2 Starlings in the garden at a time these days; used to have 6-12 a couple of years ago. One prefers to cling to the basket to eat, whilst the other stabs at the food from the adjacent structure. The former seems to stay longer and is presumably more successful.

More Starlings

Last Sunday, 27th Oct, had 5 birds in garden at same time; 4 tolerated each other whilst feeding, but the fifth seemed intent on scattering the others when it arrived. I wonder if the 4 are part of a family group that were nesting under a neighbour's roof tiles in mid summer.
