Predominately beech woodland.

Looks a very nice one, was it really that colour with the hints of green or was there was a slight colour shift on the photo?

I couldn't say...

I couldn't say for certain Mike. Although the woods were pretty dark, so hard to see much at all!

There are...

There a a number of photos on Wild About Britain forum which show it similarly coloured. How frequent is it? I did not pick it, as I thought it might be scarce.

I don't think its common

I don't think its common (some books say its rare) and I don't think i have seen it. Rarity can vary year to year though and some species are becoming more common.
