Afraid not it was very flighty
I had thought, up to now, that Meadow Pipits had pinkish-orange legs, whilst Rock Pipits had dark/brownish legs, but given the level of doubt expressed above, perhaps that is not the case. Presume it isn't the differentiator I had thought? John
I made my id on the basis of leg colour
Hind claw seems long which is one reason I plumped for Mipit.
I am also swayed that way by the leg colour - I have never seen a Rock Pipit with such pale legs as this individual in 40+ years - not to say this is impossible though.
