Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!
Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

when bruised? Surrounding trees (no location is showing up for this post)?
@Amadan, no need to be sarcastic.
I'm sorry I missed the comment about no bruising, but the type of conifer is sometimes relevant.
I do not know why the location did not appear (either in the main page view, nor in the specific page layout) at first. It is visible now.
I intended no offence: only trying to help.
I have read this quotation from 'Gen Sedgwick' twice in the last half hour.....from different people...What is it supposed to imply?
I didn't know someone else was using it.
He was an American Civil War officer. who was expressing his contempt for his fellows. They were flinching and ducking involuntarily under enemy fire. He, brave soul, was unmoved; and made this scornful comment to them just before...
Thank you for the explanation, however ....does this quotation not imply criticism of someone who has posted a specimen and wants help identifying it? Surely the i-Spot community is here to assist and encourage each other to learn about and correctly identify species we see and wish to record.
My opinion, I don't wish to upset anyone either.
It's just Amadan's signature. It's on all posts.
I will remove it. The "criticism" implied (if any) was toward myself, in that the more confident about an identification I am, the more often I'm wrong. I seem to be upsetting people at the moment, not my intention at all.
Sometimes things can be misunderstood.
