Description:

Two tall mushrooms growing on grassland on edge of beech wood. Cap 8.5cm across, flat but slightly umbonate, wet-look despite no rain, wrinkled, clay-buff colour. Colour and stickiness of cap did not change after 24hrs. Gills white, adnate, distant, different lengths. Stipe 21cm long (broke off unable to dig it all up but 6cm of length below soil), 9mm across, smooth with silky sheen, tears into long fibrils. Thick white spore print.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
