Description:

a small Morel (the Ground Ivy Glechoma hederacea in bloom behind and to the left of the 2nd pic gives an indication of scale) that i believe to be M vulgaris. i showed my pic to an an expert fungi identifier and he agreed, but since only the single specimen observed and the possibility of an atypical specimen (or a small M esculenta) im playing safe at Genus level only here.
if anyone cares to go further and offer any pointers for future reference, such tips will be gratefully received! ive rarely encountered Morchella of any species. thanks in advance.

Identifications
