Updates to iSpot

Martin Harvey's picture

There are a number of updates to iSpot coming soon! The first of these has already happened, which is that the website address (URL) for iSpot has changed. We are now:

The old address (ispot.org.uk) will continue to function but will re-direct you to the above address.

This is in preparation for further updates that will allow iSpot to function more effectively, especially for international use. You'll soon be able to choose which parts of the world you want to focus on, e.g. so that you see only UK observations, or other geographical areas.

More news to follow!

P.S. with the change to the new address you may find that your web browser will not have saved your password and you'll need to re-enter it on the site. If you can't remember the password you originally set up, go to the iSpot home page and click on the link to "Request new password" (on the right-hand side of the home page). An email will be sent to your registered email address.

When you receive the email, it will contain a link that you should be able to click on. This will take you to a page where you can change your password to whatever you wish to use (the site may suggest that you include numbers or other characters as well as letters in your password, but you don't have to do that, any password is acceptable). Make sure you click on "Save" at the bottom of the page.

Sounds good

The geographical filter is a long requested feature and I look forward to it.
