This is a young animal, look at the size f the paws - oversized. I'm not convinced it is a wood mouse from the photo, in fact I'm not sure it is a mouse - looks more like a baby rat; check out the naked-looking tail. If it is a mouse and the colours are correct then the fur is a dirty brown/black indicating house mouse rather then the rich chestnut of a wood mouse.

It was too small to be a juvenile brown rat and the ears were too large for house mouse - it was a fairly typical young wood mouse
