Description:

Simply a mouldy tomato.
But close inspection reveals a whole world of interest (for me).
I watched it over a few hours in a warm place. From a wet, slimy surface, then little transparent stipes with spore-bearing heads, to a blue haze and I assume millions of spore. But not, this time, in the fridge.
It must be a real nuisance to retailers.
An amazing film, made in 1943 http://film.britishcouncil.org/the-life-cycle-of-the-pin-mould
Frightfully good stuff!

Flag

Yep, I added a tag for National Fungus day! If I ever remove it, you will get a Flag again!
