Description:

Caterpillar eating leaves of plum tree. Very hairy, with yellow stripe on back, red/black markings on sides, black horn near head.

Scientific name

Naomi, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think you can drop the 'tridens' from the scientific name. I believe that relates to the Dark Dagger and while the adult moths are almost identical (genitalia apart), I'm pretty sure this is the distinctive caterpillar of the Grey Dagger (Acronicta psi).
