Came to light left on overnight. Distinguished from Common Marbled Carpet by sharply angled cross-line on hind wing - see photo 2. 4mm grid.

Hi Thistle, The underside

Hi Thistle,

The underside crossline on this one is better for truncata- too rounded for citrata. There should be a lot more of a peak to it if it were citrata, more of an apex. Truncata seems to often have a bit of jagged undulation in the line (as above) but the overall course of the line is much less 'pointy' at its apex. Upperside markings also indicate truncata as the projection on the central band is not long enough for citrata.
