Very common, and flowers and fruit can be seen here for much of the year. Recognisably the same family as marrows and courgettes, but doesn't sprawl. When the fruit are ripe they disperse the seed by bursting open - best to stand clear as the liquid that surrounds the seed is said to be toxic.
