Whose feather?

Description:

there was a dead mallard in the field a few days ago. i went back to see if it was still there but in its place was this feather. does anybody knows whose it is?

wildlife ranger

it isnt a magpie feather because the wite tip would have been outlined with black and secondly it is too big to be a magpie

Harris Hawk

This is a Harris Hawk tail feather, I am 100% certain of this. I have collected feathers for 25 years and have quite a few of these - they're commonly kept by falconers in the UK, so this will be from a captive bird, either being flown by it's keeper or having escaped.
