I wouldn't be able to say that it's a male at that distance though.
I'm interested to know how you have identified this as a male - presumably it was alongside and perhaps interacting with a female at some point?
Can't really sexually differentiate red kites in the field (it is difficult enough to do in the hand - as I can attest to, having handled over 100 red kite youngsters, and quite a few adults, in recent years). Nonetheless, it is great to see how regulary one of my special birds appears on ISPOT.
