Description:

I came across this plant in a disused orchard beside the Guadaiza River in Southern Spain. It is very prickly and the fruit looks like a tomato but is much harder and is a lemon yellow colour.

It appears that Solanum sodomaeum ...

... is a nomem ambiguum, and the current name for this species is Solanum linnaeanum.

Regardless of their taste, the fruits are (highly) toxic.
