Can you recall what the leaves looked like or what sort of habitat this was growing in.
I think that the possibilities are
Plantago lanceolata in tall grassland
P. media would be in the calcareous grassland at Dancers End
P. major - grows along paths

I think that P.media is the most likely as the seed head is small.

... usually (at least) has a much longer inflorescence - hence the alternative name of rattail plantain.

Habitat

Hello Jonathan,

Thanks for your help. I can't remember exactly however I think it was in the long grass along the pathway leading to the Reserve.
